Stepan Fedorov reigns in a rain-hit World Cup finale

Russian Stepan Fedorov claimed a surprise win in the finale of the Luge World Cup as he topped the podium in Winterberg, Germany.

Fedorov, who finished seventh at the 2015 World Championships, dealt with the heavy rain the best as he came home in 1:47.210 minutes.
Runner-up American Chris Mazdzer was 0.035 seconds further back, while Italian Dominik Fischnaller was third 0.066 off Fedorov.
Meanwhile, German Felix Loch was sixth to move on to 940 points for his World Cup campaign, having already secured the overall victory.
Austrian Wolfgang Kindl, who finished fifth in Winterberg, claimed second place behind Loch with a score of 795, while Mazdzer finished third on 700.
