After Russian Semen Pavlichenko had pipped Felix Loch to the men’s title, Germany were eager to get back to the top step of the podium and add to Natalie Geisenberger and Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt’s respective women's and doubles titles.
And the quartet of Geisenberger, Loch, Wendl and Arlt did exactly that, leading from start to finish to come home in 2:13.152 minutes.
It meant that all four Germans left Sigulda with two World Championship medals to their name, and also reinforced the nations dominance as they claimed three of a possible four crowns.
The only one to upset them this second, Pavlichenko, helped Russia claim team relay silver as their quartet finished 0.082 seconds back.
And the bronze medal went to Canada thanks to the efforts of Alex Gough, Samuel Edney, Tristan Walker and Justin Snith.
