Hamlin surpassed her previous track record with the first run of 43.912 seconds before clocking 44.049 to finish with a total of 1:27.961.
That was 0.175 seconds ahead of fellow countrywoman Emily Sweeney and 0.26 seconds faster than Summer Britcher.
It was a weekend to remember for Sweeney and Britcher as they secured their first World Cup podium finishes.
Germany’s Natalie Geisenberger won the event last year but she missed out on a medal by 0.019 seconds, coming fourth.
Geisenberger was also overtaken at the top of the World Cup rankings by Hamlin, after two competitions.
