The 2015 Moto3 champion started the Moto2 season with the Keifer team but parted company with the outfit after April's Austin round and has made only three starts since then.
He replaced the injured Iker Leucona at Mugello for the Interwetten Moto2 team at Mugello in June, and also made two wildcard appearances for his former Ajo KTM Moto3 squad at Le Mans and the Sachsenring.
Kent has now been handed another Moto2 outing in Austria this weekend with Intact GP.
The 23-year-old will ride an Intact-run Suter in place of regular rider Marcel Schrotter, who has been sidelined by a broken wrist.
The German rider underwent surgery on Monday in anticipation of being able to race in Austria this weekend, but did not travel to Spielberg on Thursday for medical checks.
