The 28-year-old former rugby league international scored his 12th international try of the season in Australia's 23-18 victory over world champions New Zealand in Brisbane on Saturday to take his tally to 32 in 62 tests.
Folau has started every one of Australia's 10 tests this year but will now miss matches against Japan in Yokohama on Nov. 4, Wales in Cardiff on Nov. 12, England at Twickenham on Nov. 19 and Scotland at Murrayfield on Nov. 26.
He will turn out for the Wallabies in the non-cap match against the Barbarians at Sydney Football Stadium on Saturday, however, despite Cheika resting captain Michael Hooper and 12 other regular starters from his squad.
