The Scottish Rugby Union has confirmed it will appeal the yellow card shown to winger Sean Lamont during the Six Nations defeat to France in Paris.
The Northampton flyer, who scored a try at the Stade de France, was sin-binned in the second half for a late tackle on French centre David Marty.
The SRU has decided to contest the decision as the offense was actually committed by Sean Lamont's brother Rory.
"A written notice contesting the yellow card awarded to Sean Lamont has been submitted on the grounds of mistaken identity," the SRU said in a statement.
France won the game 46-19 and scored a try in the final seconds to secure the Six Nations title ahead of Ireland.
