The 23-year-old missed three random drugs tests in an 18-month period, breaching the ‘whereabouts’ system of testing which famously caught out British sprinter Christine Ohurugu in 2007.
Camara, like other French sportsmen, has to provide the national anti-doping agency with a location where he will be for an hour a day, so that he could be subjected to testing.
Having missed out three times, his club confirmed that he would serve a six month ban, with a further six months suspended. He will be eligible to play again in December.
Yoann Huget of Bayonne was banned for four months last year for the same offence, which cost him the chance of being considered for France’s World Cup squad.
