Norway's Daniel Andre Tande enjoyed a winning outing in the second leg of the Four Hills Tour but it was not enough to prevent Kamil Stoch from moving into the overall lead in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Tande, 22, finished with a total of 289.2 points after soaring 138 and 142 metres with his first and second jumps respectively.
That was enough for him to take the win by 3.2 points from double Olympic champion Stoch who, despite recording the day's longest jump of 143 metres on his second attempt, could not overhaul his rival.
A second consecutive runners-up finish was enough for the Pole to move into the overall lead of the Four Hills Tour however, with 591.2 points.
This was after previous leader Stefan Kraft of Austria could only finish third on Sunday with 282.4 points to move onto 590.4 points overall, with Tande third on 584.6.
Markus Eisenbichler was the best performing German in his home country, finishing fourth with 278.9 and he also sits fourth overall in the standings while reigning Four Hills champion Peter Prevc is ninth overall.
The Tour now takes a break before resuming on Wednesday in Innsbruck and concluding in Bischofshofen on Friday.
