Three-time reigning overall World Cup champion Marcel Hirscher won his 27th career race in Italy on Sunday, moving ninth on the all-time list.
The Austrian led after the first of two runs and held his nerve to top the giant slalom podium in Alta Badia with a total time of 2:30.17.
The win moves him past compatriot Franz Klammer in the list but the 25-year-old still has some way to go in order to top the pile, with Ingemar Stenmark leading the way on 86.
Hirscher currently sits second in this season's overall World Cup standings, but he is now just 70 points behind leader Kjetil Jansrud after the Norwegian finished a disappointing 14th on Sunday.
American Ted Ligety was second in Italy, the 30-year-old off the pace after the opening run before flying back into the contest to finish 1.45 seconds behind Hirscher.
And France's Thomas Fanara completed the podium after a quick opening run put him third, where he eventually finished with a total time of 2:31.65, just .01 seconds ahead of countryman Alexis Pinturault.
