Davis and White crash out

Steve Davis and Jimmy White both suffered heavy defeats in the third round of qualifying for the Shanghai Masters in Sheffield.

Six-time world champion Davis was hammered 5-1 by Thai cueman Passakorn Suwannawat, which will see the 2011 Asian Championship winner meet Stephen Lee in the final qualifying round.
White went one worse as he was whitewashed 5-0 by 1995 world finalist Nigel Bond.
Bond will now face Scotsman Marcus Campbell on Thursday afternoon after despatching the former world number two.
In the morning session, Anthony Hamilton managed to see off the challenge of the former world number six Alan McManus as he looks to qualify for his first ranking tournament since last season's German Masters.
Tony Drago was on the wrong end of a 5-1 result against China's Liu Song who will now go on to face Mark King in the next round.
Former British Open champion Fergal O'Brien defeated 20-year-old Welshman Michael White 5-2 and will meet Ricky Waldon for the prize of facing Peter Ebdon in the first round proper.
The one-time world number three James Wattana beat Stoke cueman Dave Harold 5-2 and goes on to play Joe Perry on Thursday morning.
Jamie Burnett and India's Aditya Mehta are also through to Thursday's third qualifying round after beating Liu Chang 5-1 and Jamie Jones 5-4 respectively.
Burnett will take on Welshman Dominic Dale while Mehta will clash with Ryan Day.
The afternoon session commenced with a crushing 5-0 defeat for Mike Dunn at the hands of exciting 20-year-old Jack Lisowski who will now face three-time ranking event finalist Marco Fu in the next round.
World number 35 Robert Milkins came through a tight contest with Andrew Norman with a 5-4 victory and is rewarded with a match against Northern Irishman Gerard Greene in the next round.
Australian Goldfields Open quarter-finalist and World number 38 Matthew Selt wrapped up his evening match against Ian McCulloch in double-quick time, winning 5-1 while Rory McLeod was bundled out 5-4 by Adrian Gunnell.
