Lightning Ronnie O'Sullivan rockets past Mark Williams into UK Championship semi-finals

Ronnie O’Sullivan turned on the style to outclass Mark Williams 6-2 at the UK Championship in York in setting up a semi-final with Marco Fu.
Neither player was at their best prior to the first interval, with four disjointed frames resulting in the match being tied 2-2.
But O'Sullivan came back to the table a different player and wiped the floor with Williams at rocket speed.
At 5-2 up and needing 10 points to claim the match, O'Sullivan gave the Welshman a glimmer of a chance, only for Williams to fail to sink a tricky pot off the cushion, leaving Ronnie any easy task to clean up the colours and progress in style to the last four.
It was the earliest an evening match had finished in the tournament, leaving the Barbican crowd wowed at the speed and class of O'Sullivan's snooker.
In the other match of the evening session Marco Fu overcame Jamie Jones in a final frame decider, winning 6-5.
