Ronnie O’Sullivan crashed out of the International Championship with a 6-4 defeat to Michael Holt.

Holt seized the initiative in the opening two frames, winning them both, and held the lead throughout to book a spot in the quarter-finals.

"I think the main thing about facing Ronnie is not letting him effect how you play. If you can do that then you’ve got a great chance," said Holt.

Judd Trump posted breaks of 137 and 133 as he eased into the last eight with a 6-3 triumph over James Wattana.

The two century breaks helped the 27-year-old reverse an early deficit as he reeled off five of the final six frames to set up a meeting with Shaun Murphy.

Elsewhere, John Higgins was a comfortable 6-2 winner against Zhou Yuelong, with his next opponent Ding Jinhui progressing after a 6-5 success over Ricky Walden.
