Murphy ticked off the final chapter in a one-sided affair against his Australian opponent, adding the Masters title to his World Championship and UK Championship crowns from 2005 and 2008 respectively.
It was the biggest margin of victory in a Masters final since 1988 when Steve Davis obliterated Mike Hallett 9-0.
"It hasn't hit me yet at all, it will take days, weeks and months for what I have achieved to sink in," said Murphy.
"The media has made up the idea of the Triple Crown and it really does affect the players who have won two out of the three.
"I won my first one and wanted more, then I got my second and I've had to wait seven years for the third. It's been a long time coming, there has been a lot of hard work and I'm absolutely blown away."
Murphy notched a break of 127 as he raced into a commanding 5-0 lead, but Robertson took two of the next three frames to threaten an unlikely comeback.
Those hopes were dispelled though when the Magician edged a tight ninth frame to lead 6-3 before firing a second 127 to increase his lead to four frames.
And Murphy duly saw out frames 11 and 12 to write him name into snooker history.
"It was an unbelievable feeling to pot the last few balls," added Murphy. "To win this playing good snooker is very pleasing.
"This time 12 months ago I talked about giving up snooker and going off to do something else. I stuck at it and I've lived in the snooker club since, and it has finally paid off. There are plenty more trophies out there to be won."
