McMorris looked on course to take the top spot in the men's slopestyle in Stoneham after amassing 84.60 points, before an outstanding display by his compatriot snatched victory.
Montreal rider Toutant scored 84.81 to net the 1,000 World Cup points. Norway's Marcus Cleveland came home in third place with a score of 84.16, while his fellow Norwegian Torgeir Bergrem finished in fourth.
"It feels amazing," said Toutant. "I've been on the podium a couple times this year — but no wins really — so to come out with a win means so much to me."
Toutant's effort catapulted him up to sixth in the overall standings, while McMorris remains second behind American Gerard Redmond.
In the women's slopeside World Cup, the United States boasted a one-two of their own after the efforts of Julia Marino and Jamie Anderson.
Marino's classy run of 76.43 was enough for victory, with Anderson second after scoring 72.78.
And the home crowd had more joy with Brooke Voigt finishing third for Canada. Great Britain's Katie Ormerod just missed out on a podium spot.
Anderson moves top of the overall standings with Marino third, Austria's Anna Gasser is second overall after a disappointing sixth-place finish.
