Jorien Ter Mors was left celebrating her first ever career world championship title after beating America duo Heather Richardson-Bergsma and Brittany Bowe to the women's 1000m title at the World Single Distance Championships in Kolomna, Russia.
The Dutch skater continued her strong form in Russia as she added world gold to the double Olympic titles she won in Sochi two years ago.
It came after she clocked a winning time of 1:14.73 minutes, coming home 0.21 seconds ahead of Richardson-Bergsma while world record holder and reigning champion Bowe took bronze, a further 0.07 seconds back.
Elsewhere there was plenty to cheer for the home fans as Denis Yuskov picked up the 1500m title in 1:44.13 minutes, 1.53 seconds ahead of Dutch duo Kjeld Nuis and Thomas Krol.
While Martina Sablikova continued her strong Championships by adding the 5000m title to the 3000m title she claimed on Thursday.
The Czech skater was a clear winner, crossing the line in 6:51.09, almost four seconds clear of the Netherlands' Carien Kleibeuker and Irene Schouten.
While in the men's team pursuit last up on the night, it was the Netherlands who picked up gold ahead of Norway and Canada.
