Halsall ends Tokyo trip with four medals and two British records

Fran Halsall ensured she saved enough in the tank to once again rewrite the record books on the second and final day of the FINA World Cup in Tokyo.

Halsall was in dazzling form as she took to the water in Japan on Tuesday, winning 50m freestyle and backstroke gold, the latter in a new British record time of 26.42 seconds.

But the double Commonwealth champion wasn't done there, returning 24 hours later to claim two more medals.

Halsall made it a hat-trick of gold medals as she stormed to victory in the 100m freestyle, before she took silver in the 50m butterfly with a new British record time of 25.29.

There was also more success for Great Britain on day two as Georgia Davies picked up silver in the 100m backstroke, lowering the Welsh record to 57.06 in the process.

And Siobhan-Marie O'Connor picked up bronze in the 100m individual medley in her final race of the Tokyo meet.

Britain's swimmers will now move on to the final leg of the series which takes place in Singapore from 1 -2 November.
