Feliciano Lopez pulled off a coup at Queen's on Friday as he survived a three-set thriller against Tomas Berdych to progress to the semi-finals.
It was Lopez's eighth victory over Berdych, with the last at Stuttgart a week ago, where the Spaniard eventually went on to be beaten in the final by Lucas Pouille.
With the first two sets decided by tie-breaks, unlike their last meeting, Lopez took the first with Berdych edging him to the second. However, it was Lopez who won the decider against the seventh seed, winning the match in two hours and 32 minutes.
Grigor Dimitrov and Gilles Muller coasted to the semi-finals at Queens on Friday with victories over Daniil Medvedev and Sam Querrey, respectively.
Dimitrov capitalised on an injury sustained by Medvedev during the warm-up for their match.
After appearing to twinge his shoulder, the 21-year-old laboured throughout the match, losing the first set 6-3.
Nonetheless, he was able to battle back to a victory of 6-3 in the second, before falling 6-4 to Dimitrov in the final set.
Gilles Muller defeated Sam Querrey 6-4 7-5 in the first quarter finals of the day at Queen's.
The unseeded pair played out a tight, two-set match in the first quarter-finals of the day.
Muller claimed the first set 6-4 in cooler temperatures than some of the sweltering days that had preceded today.
Querrey was determined to make a fight of the second set, pushing Muller all the way to a tie-break.
Muller's experience told, and he progressed to the semi-final with a 7-6 win decided by a 7-5 tie-break in the final game.
Lopez will play Dimitrov in the semi-final tomorrow, while Muller meets with Cilic.
