Andy Murray powered into the fourth round of the Australian Open with a superb display against Sam Querrey.

Andy Murray eases past Sam Querrey to make last 16
The world No 1 had to show all of his defensive qualities in the first set, eventually taking it 6-4. But from there on, Querrey posed few problems as the Briton, who will have been buoyed by the exit of his closest rival Novak Djokovic on Thursday, completed a 6-4 6-2 6- 4 win.
Seeking his maiden title in Melbourne after five losses in the final, Murray was made to work hard to close out victory in the third set at the Hisense Arena against the man who eliminated Djokovic from the third round at Wimbledon last year.

The world number one is yet to drop a set at this year's tournament and showed no ill effects of the ankle injury he appeared to suffer during the victory over Russian teenager Andrey Rublev on Wednesday.
Instead, Murray neutralised Querrey's booming serve, which delivered only five aces and was broken five times, while displaying a level of craft and precision the American was simply unable to match.

There was a degree of surprise that Murray, the top seed and world number one, was placed out on Hisense Arena, Melbourne Park's third premier show court, but he appeared unconcerned.
The Scot captured the decisive break in the ninth game with some brilliant court movement and wrapped up the match with a big serve to set up a clash against German Mischa Zverev.
