GAVRILOVA COMES THROUGH THIRD SET EPIC

Daria Gavrilova (Australia) beat 28-Kristina Mladenovic (France) 6-4 4-6 11-9 - She only picked up her Australian passport last month, but Russian-born Daria Gavrilova has already won over her adopted nation with a superb run into the fourth round of the Australian Open.
Up against France's 28th seed Kristina Mladenovic, Gavrilova claimed a hard-fought opening set before losing an equally well-matched second, both Mladenovic breaking Gavrilova's serve three times. And the match continued on a knife-edge in the decider that extended to a quite astonishing 96 minutes, with Gavrilova coming out on top.

CILIC GOES OUT AGAINST BAUTISTA AGUT

24-Roberto Bautista (Spain) beat 12-Marin Cilic (Croatia) 6-4 7-6(5) 7-5 - The Australian Open continued to be an unhappy hunting ground for Marin Cilic on Friday as the former U.S. Open champion perished in the third round in a 6-4 7-6(5) 7-5 defeat by Roberto Bautista Agut.
The Croatian 12th seed fired down 15 aces and belted 46 winners but that was not enough to topple his Spanish rival, who capitalised on Cilic's 55 unforced errors to equal his best showing at Melbourne Park. Since reaching the semi-finals at the Open in 2010, Cilic has failed to make it past the fourth round and will be disappointed that he missed out on a last 16 showdown with either Australian firecracker Nick Kyrgios or Czech sixth seed Tomas Berdych.
