Jo Konta sealed her place in the third round of the Australian Open with a comfortable win over 19-year-old Japanese prospect Naomi Osaka in just under 90 minutes.
The British No 1 was dominant on the big points and easily saw of her opponent who had never failed to reach the third round of a Grand Slam.
As for her compatriot Kyle Edmund, it was much harder going. The 22-year-old, who has risen to No 46 in the world rankings, appeared to struggle with a foot injury in the first set, eventually calling the trainer at 5-2.
But his serve let him down against the much more consistent Pablo Carreno Busta and he eventually lost 6-2 6-4 6-2.

There were no such problems for Grigor Dimitrov, however, with the Bulgarian easing through in four sets against Hyeon Chung, despite losing the opener. After his 1-6 6-4 6-4 6-4 victory, he will now face Richard Gasquet, after the Frenchman's 6-1 6-1 6-1 victory over Carlos Berlocq.
