The British number two and world number 67 saved four out of five break points on his way to a match with the eighth seeded Italian Fabio Fognini on Friday.
Fognini enjoyed a 6-2 3-6 6-3 win over Spain's Albert Ramos-Vinolas.
“I’m happy to be in the quarter-finals again here, that I made the best result of my career at the moment,” said Fognini.
“I have one opportunity again, one more opportunity to improve my game, to try to do my best on court on Friday.”
The Slovenian-born Bedene, 26, overcame Daniel Gimeno-Traver in the first round of the clay court event.
Bedene lost to French Open champion Stanislas Wawrinik in his first ATP Tour final in Chennai at the outset of the year. He became a British citizen in March, and reached the second round of Wimbledon.
Top seed Rafael Nadal will bid to secure his spot in the last eight when he faces Jiri Vesely on Thursday afternoon.
