Great Britain’s quest to recapture the Davis Cup title in 2017 will start with a trip to Canada in February.
GB’s title defence was ended in a 3-2 semi-final defeat to Argentina in Glasgow last weekend.
But despite that elimination, captain Leon Smith will be buoyed by the wealth of talent at his disposal with world number two Andy Murray complemented by Kyle Edmund (no. 54) and Dan Evans (no. 56).
Murray could face Canada’s world number six Milos Ranoic, who the Scot beat in this year’s Wimbledon final. Vasek Pospisil, a former quarter-finalist at SW19, is a contender for the other singles berth.
The tie is scheduled for February 3-5.
