Easy first-round win for Konta in Montreal

Johanna Konta beat Shelby Rogers 6-4 6-2 in an hour and 21 minutes to reach the second round of the Rogers Cup in Montreal, Canada.
Konta won her first WTA title in Stanford at the weekend, beating Venus Williams, and currently stands at 14th in the world rankings, with the possiblity of breaking into the top 10 this week.
She will play either Hungary's Timea Babos or American Vania King in the next round.
Naomi Broady was set to play Garbine Muguruza, but the French Open champion withdrew late on, causing confusion among players and coaches.
Varvara Lepchenko took Muguruza's place as a lucky loser.
