Spaniard Ferrer demolished the Dutch wildcard, breaking his serve five times whilst proving lethal on the second return.
He will now battle Benoit Paire for a spot in the final, the Frenchman producing a straight-sets victory of his own against Tatsuma Ito in the quarters.
Paire, ranked 60th in the world, defeated the Japanese player 6-3 7-5 but now faces a tough task in the form of Ferrer if he is to go all the way.
The other men's semi-final will pit Belgian Xavier Malisse, who defeated Luxembourger Gilles Muller 6-3 4-6 6-1, against German Philipp Petzschner, who saw off Edouard Roger-Vasselin of France 6-4 7-6 after the only tie-break of the last eight.
On the WTA side, Nadia Petrova blitzed Dominica Cibulkova 6-2 6-0 to open the women's quarters. The Russian will meet either Kirsten Flipkens or Roberta Vinci in the semi-final.
Belgian Flipkens, a surprise package in Holland this year, was leading Vinci 6-4 6-5 with the Italian serving to stay in the match before rain stopped play.
Belgian Kim Clijsters beat Francesca Schiavone of Italy 6-3 7-6(7) to set up a semi-final clash with Urszula Radwanska.
Pole Radwanska beat Sofia Arvidsson of Sweden 6-2 7-6(3).
