Andy Murray has lost the first set of his first-round match against qualifier Radek Stepanek at the French Open.

The Briton, tipped by many to win the event after beating Novak Djokovic in the Rome Masters last week, looked lacklustre in the opening exchanges and was guilty of too many unforced errors.

The Czech player, 37, broke him in the fourth game and ended up winning the set 6-3 after Murray ditched a forehand in the net.
