The British team will bid to reach their first Davis Cup semi-final since 1981 when they take on France in July.
After beating the United States 3-2 in Glasgow in March, thanks to Andy Murray's two singles wins and a shock five-set victory for British number two James Ward over John Isner, Great Britain have opted for the London grass of Queen's Club for their next match.
It is a decision supported by Henman who believes the surface can give his former side the edge in what he deems a 'very winnable tie.'
Britain only has two players currently in the world's top 100 compared to five players in the top 30 for France.
But Henman insists 2013 Wimbledon champion Murray is not the only driving force in the squad.
"Andy has been the cornerstone of the team but there have been a number of other factors as well," Henman told Press Association Sport.
"It has been impressive to see Jamie Ward win a couple of very big matches for example, he has done very well to win rounds in the last few years and the challenge will be whether he can do that in the next tie.
"France have a strong team but playing them at home on grass, it's a very winnable tie.
"They need to play very well, there's no doubt about that, but if they win they're suddenly in the semis of the Davis Cup.
"If they could get that far, a lot of people would really take notice and it would be fantastic for the game in this country."
