US Open: Britain's Kyle Edmund storms into third round in New York

British number four Kyle Edmund was in superb form once again as he won his second round match at the US Open against Ernesto Escobedo.
Edmund provided the biggest shock of the opening day as he knocked out France's Richard Gasquet, a world top 15 player.
And the 21-year-old Brit proved that result had been no fluke as he cruised past Escobedo - who is ranked 201st in the world - 7-5 6-4 6-4 without ever looking troubled.
He is now into the third round of a grand slam tournament for the first time.
"I'm very pleased, a lot of good things today," Edmund told Eurosport.
"I thought I played a much cleaner match, a lot of things went better for me against Gasquet.
"This was about toughing out more longer rallies, I made a few more errors, but you can't be too tough on yourself.
"I thought every set I stayed tough, and when it counted towards the end I got the break."
Edmund's next match is likely to be a tougher prospect: he may well be up against John Isner, the big-serving American who has the benefit of home crowd advantage.
Should he get past that encounter, things will only get tougher: Novak Djokovic would almost certainly await him in round four.
