But Novak Djokovic probably wasn’t expecting to have a prosthetic leg thrust in his direction following his third round triumph at Wimbledon.
The world number one, comfortable 6-3 6-3 6-3 winner over Bernard Tomic, duly signed the fake leg before leaving Centre Court.
When quizzed about the incident after his match, the Serb admitting it was the first time it had happened.
“I’m sorry, I want to be politically correct – I don’t want to offend anybody. I hope my signature is going to make him feel better,” he told the BBC afterwards.

Perhaps it will spark a craze of supporters asking for unusual items to be signed.
