Lendl sat impassive throughout the match, a pose which was made to look somewhat absurd as the other members of Murray's team jumped to their feet regularly throughout the match.
But while Lendl might be short on displays of emotion, he is not short of results: Murray has yet to lose a match since linking up with his former coach once more.
"He's just lucky," chuckled Murray when asked about the man who has helped him win all three of his major titles, a moment of levity which drew huge laughter from the Centre Court crowd.
Murray added that he was thrilled to win what for him is always his number one target.
"It's the most important tournament every year for me," he said.
"I've had some great moments here and some tough moments so the win feels extra special because of those tough losses...
"I'm proud to have my hands on the trophy again."
Murray also paid tribute to his family and his support team for their help in winning a third grand slam title. "Thank you to all of my team for helping me get here. And to my family watching up there.
"I love all of you. Thank you," Murray added, before his voice broke with emotion.
But while the emotion of Sunday was enormous, it wasn't quite as intense as three years ago when the Scot ended a wait of three-quarters of a century for a home-grown champion at the All England Club.
And Murray admitted that he'd not enjoyed his maiden win as much as he could have - something he will put right this time.
"I'm going to make sure I do. Last time I was just so relieved," he said.
"The stress and the pressure meant I didn't get to enjoy it so much. But I'll make sure I enjoy this one tonight for sure."
Indeed he will - and those celebrations couldn't be more richly-deserved, as beaten opponent Raonic made clear.
"It's a difficult challenge, and Andy's been playing brilliant," said Raonic.
"He deserves it, so well done Andy.
"This one's going to sting," the Canadian added, "so I'm going to make sure I do everything I can to come back here and have another chance.
"It's been a phenomenal two weeks, and before that at Queen's as well."
