WTA Aegon Classic in Birmingham 2017: When it starts, dates, tickets, order of play live TV coverage

Wimbledon starts in just a fortnight but there is a whole host of brilliant grass-court tennis in the build-up, which you can watch live on Eurosport and Eurosport Player.

We have live coverage from four tournaments over the next two weeks, with some of the world’s best tennis players in action, including British number ones Andy Murray and Johanna Konta.

Monday sees some of the finest players in men’s tennis take to the court at Queen’s for the Aegon Championship, while Birmingham hosts the women at the Aegon Classic.

Next week, the ATP and WTA tours both arrive in Eastbourne for the Aegon International, while for the first time Eurosport brings you live coverage of the Wimbledon qualifying.

When does it start? What dates does it run?

June 19-25.

What’s the big story?

World number one Angelique Kerber has sadly withdrawn with a hamstring injury but that just opens the draw up for British number one Konta, who got so close to winning her first grass-court tournament at the weekend.

Konta was beaten in the final of WTA Nottingham by Donna Vekic but after her performance has renewed hope of becoming the first British woman to win a tour event on home turf since Virginia Wade in 1975.

Petra Kvitova has also been given a wild card as she continues her comeback from a horrific knife attack.

Which top players are there?

Czech Elina Svitolina is the second and top seed after Kerber’s withdrawal. Dominika Cibulkova is seeded third and then Konta is fourth, with Kristina Mladenovic rounding out the top five. Grabine Muguruza, last year’s French Open champion, is sixth seed.

Which British talents are hoping to shine?

British number two Naomi Broady has been given a wild card, along with number three Heather Watson.
