Jo Konta made light work of Yanina Wickmayer in the round of 16 at the Aegon Open in Nottingham on Thursday.
Recording her 301st career singles win, Konta broke early in the first set, and again to take a solid 4-0 lead, before dropping a game to bring the score to 4-1.
Just as it appeared Konta had the first set wrapped up, Wickmayer stormed back into the game, picking up the next two games although she failed to draw level after a misplaced return on Konta's serve.
After dropping another game it looked as if Konta was going to have to have to work for the first set after all but she wrapped it up at 6-4.
Konta broke Wickmayer's serve in the opening game thanks to some sloppy errors by the Belgian. Finding her consistency again, Konta powered on to another 4-0 lead.
Determined, Konta fought on and as it seemed the Brit would bagel her opponent, Wickmayer clawed a game back forcing Konta to serve for the match.
Konta will play Australia's Ashleigh Barty in quarter finals.
