FISU at SportAccord Convention 2017: Day 4

AARHUS - The Day 4 for FISU delegation at #SAC2017 in Aarhus brought one more series of productive meetings. It started with International World Games Association Honorary President Ron Froehlich visiting the FISU booth to share with FISU President Oleg Matytsin his experience of organising big multisport events. It was followed by meetings with Borislav Pelevic, President of World Association of Kickboxing Organisations and Nenad Lalovic, United World Wrestling President as combat sports are an important part of the FISU programme.

The afternoon brought a bit of an entertainment for SportAccord Convention participants as the International Table Tennis Federation organised demonstrational activities on the occasion of the World Table Tennis Day. The FISU President, as a former table tennis athlete, had a chance to challenge France’s Jean Philippe Gatien, former World Champion and Olympic medalist.

As the working day continued, FISU leaders conducted meetings with Joel Bouzou, World Olympians Association President and founder of Peace and Sport, Gianni Merlo, President of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) and the representatives of the Colombian city of Medellin.

As the SAC2017 Exhibition was drawing to a close, President Matytsin and Secretary General/CEO Saintrond met with Sarah Bowron, Insidethegames.biz Managing Director, to sign a cooperation agreement which had been finalised in the previous days. From now on FISU will have a special section on Insidethegames portal, an increasingly popular Olympic news outlet, to inform its readers about latest developments in university sports.
