FISU President visits Beijing Sport University

BEIJING - On 14 and 15 May FISU President Oleg Matytsin and Secretary General/CEO Eric Saintrond visited Beijing Sport University (BSU) to meet with its leadership and students. Mr Matytsin and Mr Saintrond were greeted by Mr Cao Weidong, BSU Chairman of the Council, and Mr Chi Jian, President of the University.

The programme of the visit also included a tour on BSU campus. Accompanied by Mr Yang Liguo, FISU Vice-President, and Mr Yang Binsheng, Director of National Team Affairs Management Office, Mr Matytsin and Mr Saintrond visited training facilities, the BSU Research Centre and the library of the university.

Like on previous occasions, FISU President, who holds a honorary doctorate degree from Beijing Sport University since 2005, took the opportunity to meet with BSU students. In his lecture Mr Matytsin talked about the origins of university sports, the history of FISU and the current state of affairs in international university sports.
