Girolami: I’ll be stronger at WTCC Race of China
Néstor Girolami hopes WTCC Race of China will mark the turning point of his first full season in the FIA World Touring Car Championship.
Girolami had been touted as a title contender heading into the wide-open 2017 campaign but a run of frustrating results has hit his hopes hard. With four race weekends remaining, the Polestar Cyan Racing driver languishes ninth in the standings, 132 points behind leader Tiago Monteiro.
Speaking following his home event in Argentina last month, where sixth place in the Main Race provided the highlight, Girolami said: “It was an unlucky weekend for us but we keep fighting. We win together and we lose together and we will be stronger in China where I hope to be back on the podium.”
WTCC Race of China takes place at the all-new Ningbo International Speedpark from 13-15 October.
