The 25-year-old Swede told reporters that she still expected to take part in Friday's race.
"My nose is a little runny and I'm a little sore in the throat, but it shouldn't be a problem for the slalom," said Paerson. "But if I get a fever I will have to pass on the slalom."
"This is a sign that my body is telling me it's too much".
Paerson has won the super-G, the super-combined and the downhill on home snow to become the first person in history to win major championship golds in all five disciplines.
"Everything can happen and it feels like I've got plenty of energy in my body."
Paerson enters the event as Olympic champion.
