Italian Federica Brignone wins combined event

Federica Brignone of Italy recovered from a disappointing run in the giant slalom to win the women's Alpine skiing World Cup combined event at Crans-Montana in Switzerland on Sunday.
Brignone, Olympic giant slalom bronze medallist at last month's Pyeongchang Winter Games, recovered from fifth in the giant slalom to post a winning slalom leg and clock an overall time of one minute 46.47 seconds.
She was 0.03 seconds faster than second-placed Swiss Michelle Gisin with Petra Vlhova of Slovakia third.
Swiss Wendy Holdener, fourth in Sunday's race, leads the combined standings with 150 points after two events. Gisin is second with 109 and Brignone third with 100.
Holdener, fourth in Sunday's race, won her second combined title with Gisin second and Brignone third.
