Beat Feuz came in second to increase his lead in the downhill World Cup, with home racer Aksel Lund Svindal coming home in third.
Dressen stopped the clock in 1:48.17, just 0.08s ahead of his Swiss rival, with Svindal a further 0.09s behind.
Feuz was fifth out of the gate in Norway and when Kjetil Jansrud, Dominik Paris and Svindal all failed to go faster than him, Dressen was the only man left with a realistic chance of beating him.
And beat him he did, skiing 11th Dressen was third at the final time check but made up enough time in the closing stages to just pip Feuz at the line – clocking an average speed of 100.08 kmh.
The result leaves Feuz top of the downhill World Cup on 622, with Svindal second on 562 and Dressen now third on 401.
Just one race remains this season, with the World Cup Final taking place next week in Are, Sweden.
