Marcel Hirscher produced another fantastic performance in Kranjska Gora to win the slalom and by doing so secure his seventh overall World Cup title in a row as well as the slalom World Cup.
The Austrian ace, who clinched a fifth giant slalom crystal globe on Saturday, finished ahead of Norway’s Henrik Kristoffersen in second place for the second day in a row with Swiss Ramon Zenhaeusern in third.
Hirscher's victory opens up an unassailable lead in both the slalom and overall World Cup standings. It's his second title in a row in the slalom and his seventh in the overall, he has won the last four giant slalom cups.
He was 1.22 seconds faster than Kristoffersen over the two slalom runs and 1.61 ahead of Zenhaeusern.
It is the 14th time this season that Kristoffersen has finished on the podium but the talented youngster has had no answer to his legendary rival during this campaign.
In total Hirscher has now won 17 World Cup globes, a number that is only bettered by Ingemar Stenmark, widely considered to be the best Alpine Skiier ever, who finished his career with 19.
There are just two meetings of the season left, next weekend in Kvitfjell and then in a fortnight in Are.
