Clarey crashes in training

Johan Clarey of France was airlifted off the Olympic course after crashing heavily during Friday's final training for the season's first men's World Cup downhill. In just his second season on the World Cup, Clarey lost control midway through his run at a

Course oficials said doctors had examined the 23-year-old Frenchman at the scene then placed him a safety basket and lifted him away by helicopter.

Clarey's previous best result was 29th at a downhill in Chamonix last season.
