Lindsey Vonn has revealed, exclusively to Eurosport, that she hopes to make her season debut in the World Cup season-opening giant slalom this Saturday.
The American was initially hoping to come back in December, following a series of injury problems, including a fractured humerus in her right arm in November, but has brought forward the date for the event in Solden, Austria.
If she does compete, it will be Vonn’s earliest start to a season since before her recent major injuries dating back to the February 2013 World Championships.
In the video, released to Eurosport, the 33-year-old American says: “Hey guys, quick update.
The plan as of right now is to start on Saturday, which I am really excited about.
"I just have to see what the conditions are like when I start, which I think is bib number 31. If they are not good, and its dangerous, then I won’t start but otherwise my plan is definitely to be racing so I’m really excited.”
