Stuhec edges out Goggia in Soldeu - World Cup women's downhill highlights

Ilka Stuhec secured victory in the final women’s downhill of the season at the Alpine Ski World Cup in Soldeu.
Slovenian Stuhec finished her run with an electric time of 1:30.35, which couldn’t be matched by Sofia Goggia.
Goggia, who had already secured the World Cup Crystal Globe in the discipline finished second.
Lara Gut-Behrami completed the podium after edging Federico Brignone into fourth place.
Brignone set the early pace with a time of 1:31.31 after going out second but was soon usurped at the top of the leaderboard by the Swiss star.
Gut-Behrami posted a time of 1:31.16 but saw her own lead snatched away by Stuhec.
A delay before her run helped build the tension before Goggia left the gate, but the Italian’s eventual effort was just shy of what was required to leapfrog Stuhec, finishing with a time of 1:30.86.
Corinne Sutter’s time of 1:31.69 was only good enough for 13th place, but after Italy’s Elana Curtoni’s crash and DNF, the Swiss racer was able to leapfrog her rival into third in the overall downhill standings.
