Bode Miller twisted his ankle playing basketball but should be fit to race the final Alpine skiing event of the Turin Olympics, his American team said on Wednesday. Miller - last season's World Cup winner - came to the Games as a favourite in all five events but has so far failed to win a medal.
His last chance will be in Saturday's slalom. "He should be okay for Saturday," U.S. team spokesman Tom Kelly said.
Kelly said Miller had hurt his right ankle on Tuesday. No further details were immediately available.
Miller, the world champion in downhill and super-G, has faced criticism from American media for staying out late in the bars and nightclubs of Sestriere before his races.
