The thumb injury Tom Brady sustained during practice in preparation for the AFC Championship Game in January made for plenty of talk leading up to the game.
Brady's performance against Jacksonville led to plenty of adulation for the QB -- and speculation about the exact severity of the injury to begin with.
On Monday, the world finally got a look at the injury and the images showed it was severe (the image can be seen below at roughly 03:53).
Brady released the images Monday as part of the final episode of his Facebook documentary "Tom vs. Time." In the episode, Brady says of the moment the injury happened:
"I'm looking down at my thumb as it's split open and I'm thinking, 'I really don't know what happened to my thumb but I know it doesn't feel good and I have a real hard time believing I'm going to be able to go out and play well against the No. 1-ranked defense in the league in four days."
The video also shows Brady undergoing acupuncture following stitches.
Ultimately, Brady showed little effect of the injury against the Jags. He was 26-of-38 passing for 290 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions in the 24-20 come-from-behind win.
