Tergat to run London Marathon
Paul Tergat and Hendrick Ramaala will continue their rivalry in London next year after both confirmed they will race in the city's marathon in April. Kenyan Tergat beat South Africa's Ramaala in a thrilling battle in the New York City marathon on Sunday i
Tergat will also be up against his old 10,000 metres rival, twice Olympic and four-times world champion Haile Gebrselassie.
The Ethiopian, who retired from the track after last year's Athens Olympics, won the Amsterdam marathon last month.
London race director Dave Bedford said: "This exciting rematch will be eagerly anticipated, especially as Tergat's great arch-rival and old friend Haile Gebrselassie, will also be joining them.
"And we have of course yet to announce the other signings in the men's field."
World record holder Tergat has never won the London marathon, finishing second in 2001 and 2002. Ramaala was third last year.
