Adrian Beltre blasted a two-out, ninth-inning home run off Yankees star reliever Mariano Rivera to complete a come-from-behind 3-2 victory for the visiting Seattle Mariners in New York.

"I was looking for something I could hit into the gap and I think he threw me a cutter," Beltre said after smashing the first pitch he saw from Rivera over the left-center field wall to complete Seattle's comeback.
"It's a great feeling giving your team the lead in that situation. For it to come off a future Hall of Famer makes it even better."
The rally spoiled the Major League debut of Matt DeSalvo, who pitched seven strong innings for the Yankees and left with New York leading 2-1.
Seattle tied the score in the eighth on a missed call by second base umpire Gerry Davis.
Television replays suggested pinch runner Willie Bloomquist was tagged out attempting to steal second base, but Davis ruled him safe.
Bloomquist then scored on Kenji Johjima's single to right.
"To be honest, I thought the play (at second) was close when it first happened," Bloomquist said.
"When I had a chance to look at the replay... well, the umpire called me safe so I was safe.
"Luckily, we don't have instant replay. It showed that he tagged me on my lower back or hip."
Rivera came on in the ninth with the score tied and retired the first two Seattle batters before Beltre homered.
Earlier, both team scored in the first inning when Raul Ibanez's RBI single drove in Ichiro Suzuki for Seattle's opening run before the Yankees levelled the score on Bobby Abreu's fielder's choice.
The home side then took a 2-1 lead in the fifth inning on Doug Mientkiewicz's double.
Yankees manager Joe Torre missed the game after being suspended along with pitcher Scott Proctor by the commissioner's office.
Torre drew a one-game suspension and Proctor was suspended for four games after he threw a pitch at Mariners shortstop Yuniesky Betancourt on Sunday.
Travis Hafner's eighth-inning grand slam home run keyed a 14-hit attack as the Cleveland Indians recorded a 10-1 road win over the Baltimore Orioles.
Fausto Carmona gave up one run in seven innings for the victory.
Over in the National League, Brad Penny struck out a career-best 14 batters and drove in two runs with a single to help the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Florida Marlins 6-1.
Penny pitched seven scoreless innings, giving up five hits and walking none against his former team to improve to 4-0 for the season.
"My fastball was the best it's been all year," the hard-throwing Penny said. "I had command of it, in and out, and they got me an early cushion, and that makes it a lot easier on a pitcher."
Not since Chan Ho Park in 2000 had a Dodgers pitcher struck out 14 in a game.
"The mound here (in Miami) is huge. It's perfect for a guy like me," Penny added. "It's definitely to the advantage of a power pitcher."
The National League West-leading Dodgers took a 2-0 lead in the second inning, then added four more in the fourth. Penny aided the big inning with his two-run single.
Los Angeles sent nine batters to the plate in the inning with Russell Martin getting a run-scoring triple and Andy LaRoche an RBI single.
Bengie Molina hit two home runs in a nine-run fifth inning and the San Francisco Giants gave Barry Zito all the support he needed in a 9-4 home victory over the New York Mets.
Molina drove in five runs, all in the fifth inning, with a two-run homer and a three-run shot. Barry Bonds went 0-for-2 as he returned to the Giants lineup.
Brad Hawpe walked with the bases loaded in the ninth inning to give the Colorado Rockies a 3-2 win at St. Louis.
Chris Young struck out eight in six innings to lift the San Diego Padres to a 4-2 road win over the Atlanta Braves for their fifth victory in six games.
