Great Britain won't be taking anything for granted when they go into their EuroBasket Women 2019 qualification crunch match against Portugal.
The British ballers are one victory away from qualifying for next year's competition in Latvia and Serbia and a win over Portugal will ensure top spot in Group D.
Jose Buceta's side narrowly overcame Greece in Manchester in their penultimate group game, edging the tie 79-77 to leave the Brits' destiny in their own hands – although defeat would still see GB qualify should Greece also lose to Israel.
And while guard Georgia Jones is anticipating a competitive match against the Portuguese, who GB beat 64-56 when the countries last met back in February, she is backing her close-knit team to overcome the challenge.
"We've been together now as a group, as a core, for so long and there's so much experience there," said the Commonwealth Games 2018 silver medallist.
"Every time you come back into camp it's like coming back to see your friends' so it really does make a difference with regards to chemistry both on and off the court.
"Our group is so close and every team is a good team. I don't think we ever thought that Portugal couldn't pull off wins. We played them in Portugal and it was a tough game where we only pulled away in the last few minutes.
"We never take them for granted really, it just goes to show with them winning against Israel what they can do. We've just got to go into it like any other game.
"It's going to be competitive, it's going to be tough but hopefully we'll come out with the win."
