NBA notebook: Suns owner threatens move to Seattle or Las Vegas

In short, Sarver is telling Phoenix City Council members he will move the team
to Seattle or Las Vegas if the renovation of the facility isn't approved,
according to the Arizona Republic.

The Suns committed to a 40-year lease in 1992, but they can opt out in 2022.

The city council was slated to vote on a $230 million renovation package
Wednesday, but serious backlash from the community is leading to the vote
being pushed back -- likely to Jan. 23.

--Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens announced that forward Al Horford
will miss at least three games because of patellofemoral pain syndrome in his
left knee.

"He's going to be out a little bit, but not too long," Stevens said. "Just to
strengthen him and get him feeling a lot better -- a little bit similar to
(Marcus) Morris last year -- and make sure that he feels great instead of
going in and out like this."

Horford had sat out the last two games before Wednesday's decision. He last
played Dec. 6 in the Celtics' 128-100 win over the New York Knicks and scored
19 points and notched 12 rebounds.

--Suns forward T.J. Warren was fined $15,000 for directing inappropriate
language at an official, NBA executive vice president of basketball operations
Kiki VanDeWeghe announced.

Warren used the language after being ejected during Monday's 123-119 overtime
loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. Warren is averaging 17.4 points in 22 games.

The Suns have lost 10 straight games entering Thursday's game against the
Dallas Mavericks. Phoenix owns the worst record in the NBA at 4-24.
