Davis out for season

Los Angeles Clippers center Paul Davis will miss the rest of the season after having knee surgery, the team has announced.

The 23-year-old is expected to be sidelined for between six and eight months after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament and lateral meniscus in his right knee.

Davis suffered the injury in the second quarter of the Clippers' 102-89 defeat by the Dallas Mavericks on December 21.

A second-round draft pick in 2006, he has averaged 2.5 points and 2.1 rebounds in 22 games this season.
