Johannes Thingnes Boe continued his fine start to the season as he claimed victory in the 10km sprint in Hochfilzen, his third IBU World Cup win of the campaign.
The Norwegian biathlete carried the form he showed on the opening weekend in Slovenia into this first race in Austria as he edged out seven-time overall crystal globe winner Martin Fourcade.
Boe came home in a time of 24:49.2, which was 8.6 seconds ahead of the Frenchman, despite one miss on the range.
Benedikt Doll of Germany came home in third, his best result of the season so far.
That win extends Boe's lead at the top of the overall standings, with France's Antonin Guigonnat moving up to second overall after finishing fourth.
The men's action continues on Saturday in the 12.5km pursuit where Boe will look to add a fourth victory to his collection for the season so far.
