Kaisa Makarainen won the women's 10km pursuit in dramatic fashion on Saturday to move to the top of the overall women's biathlon World Cup standings.
The Finn had to hold off a superb challenge from France's Anais Bescond to cross the line in 30:52.7minutes, 0.2 seconds ahead of her rival.
Third in the pursuit was Germany's Laura Dahlmeier a further 17.5seconds back as she failed to stay with the top two in the final ski to the line.
That means Makarainen, twice the overall World Cup champion before most recently in 2013/14, takes top spot in the standings with just one last race of the season to come here in Tyumen, Russia.
She sits on 799 points heading into the 12.5km mass start on Sunday, with Russia’s Anastasiya Kuzmina five behind on 794 and Darya Domracheva third on 744.
